Thanksgiving Cranberry Sauce Recipe (4)
We are going to start with our 9 small organic apples. We’re going to wash and peel them, then bake them in the oven at 400 degrees until they are soft. Add a little water to the bottom of the pan so the apples don’t burn and stick to the bottom of the pan. While that’s baking, wash your 16 oz. of organic cranberries and we are going add them to 1 ⅓ cup of boiling water. At this time, add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg to the boiling water. Cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes or until all the cranberries have popped, stirring occasionally. Remove this from the heat and set it aside. Once your apples are soft and ready, let them cool for about 10 minutes and put them into the vitamixer along with one pomegranate worth of seeds. Blend it a little for more chunks, and more for a creamier texture. Then you mix it all together and let it cool. -

Depression + Diet, Diet Soda Research, Unique TRX Exercise – Fitness On the Run (2)
It is always interesting to browse recent nutrition headlines and see what kind of research is being done in the field. This past week I came across a couple of articles that I think much of our society can relate to. The first article titled, “Daily Diet Soda Tied to Higher Risk of Stroke and Heart Attack,” explores a link between daily diet soda consumption and an increased risk of vascular problems such as heart attacks and strokes. Diet soda provides no nutritional benefit and recent research suggests that it may have many harmful effects on the body, yet people refuse to give it up…why is that? Please, it is time to eliminate ALL soda from your life, both regular and diet!!! -
Kettlebell Goblet Squat (8)
The Kettlebell Goblet Squat is a great exercise for making gains in your squatting abilities, leg strength, core strength, and when using the Indo Board, balance training. Here, Jon goes through a progression of the Goblet Squat first with a kettlebell, then performing a kettlebell front raise while squatting. To make it a balance training exercise, use an unstable surface like the Indo Board to increase proprioception and muscle activation without an increased load of weight. To make it even more challenging, add a kettlebell front raise while on the Indo Board. Remember, while on the indo board, floor surface is very important. Doing this on a harder surface will make it quicker, a thicker surface like grass will slow down the board’s movement and make it easier to balance. -
