Tabata Training With Coach Dos!
Friday, December 14, 2012 at 2:16PM The Tabata Method is not a new breakfast sandwich at Jack In The Box, even though it sounds like it. Tabata Method IS just a format for doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) where you do some anaerobic exercise, force a short recovery period, then repeat. The Tabata method uses 20 seconds of intense exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated continuously for 8 cycles or 4 minutes total - each cycle is 30 seconds. There are many Tabata Timers out there in the form of apps and web apps to time you, which creates some instant structure to your workout and gives you a format to follow. But, it is not just about the structure, High Intensity Interval Training has been shown to burn fat very effectively as well as improve your VO2 Max.
So, I’ve teamed up with my buddy and super accomplished author Robert Dos Remedios from Coachdos.com to bring you some Tabata ideas that you can do with no equipment, or very little equipment and we’ll be doing this work in Real Time so you can do it with us. We’ll give you some modifications for all ability levels, so you can do work with us - Yes, that’s right, 4 minutes long (if you do 2 sets of each video), and you’ll have a choice on which Tabata to do. Click on any one of these annotations below, and I’ll also put these in a playlist so you can run through all of them in a row if you are up for the challenge. So, put down the Ciabatta, and let’s do some Tabata!
