Table Tennis (Ping Pong) - World's Greatest Sport?

Dr. Daniel Amen says that playing table tennis can increase brain activity.  He calls it the “worlds best brain sport.”  Playing table tennis is good for your balance, agility, hand eye coordination, and it requires many areas of the brain to work at the same time to figure out spins, strategize, and track the ball.  In addition, since you are moving around (some of our games find us breathing really hard and sweating profusely) you get a great workout.  Table tennis is one of the many activities that Amen says can keep your brain from aging, is fun to do, and can make you want to exercise on a regular basis.

Here is a video of MOJ and I playing ping pong or table tennis just as we do a couple times per week.  Yes, we do actually keep track of the scores and it does get competitive, yet I think we both can point to Monday nights as a highlight to the week.  On occasion there have been phone calls after matches to check if the other’s ego is still intact, and we no longer throw paddles, kick tables, or crush balls.  It’s a Gentleman’s game.
